C. History
The manuscript was purchased by Constantinus Minoides MinasConstantinus Minoides Minas (1790–1859) from SeraphimSeraphim archimandrite, Archimandrite of the monastery of Saint George of ChoutourasSaint George (Choutouras) in the Pontus region (his name is on f. 1r), during one of his missions to the Ottoman Empire (see Astruc, Concasty 1960, 444). The manuscript was finally acquired by the BNF in 1898. It is a very late manuscript, produced in a very peripheral region of the Greek-speaking world, which may explain the obvious orthographical errors made by the two copyists. It mostly deals with grammatical and lexicographical topics, probably for educational purposes. As already pointed out by Hansen (1998, 19–23), it clearly descends from a witness belonging to the π family, and, as a descriptus, is of little value for the reconstruction of Moeris’ text.
