C. History
The owner of this codex was Demetrius ChalcondylasDemetrius Chalcondylas himself, as is written on the verso of the rear flyleaf. In this regard, the orthographic error in the name of the Greek scholar, Καλχονδύλου instead of the correct Xαλκονδύλου, is very curious – as it seems unlikely that he would have misspelt his own name – and suggests that this is not his hand. The manuscript later became part of the Jesuit libraryJesuit library (Antwerp) in Antwerp until 1733. Before that, it had been owned by Pierre PantinPierre Pantin (1556–1611) and then by Andreas SchottAndreas Schott (1552–1629). It was also used by Isaac VossiusIsaac Vossius for the Amsterdam edition of Pollux in 1706 (see Papanicolaou 2014, 321 n. 161). The text of the Onomasticon in Br is derived from that of Vaticanus graecus 2226Vat. gr. 2226 (G) and also shares some errors with Vindobonensis phil. gr. 44Vindob. phil. gr. 44 (Wn).
