This section of DEA hosts individual studies of the manuscripts and early printed editions of five lexica: Pollux’s Onomasticon, Phrynichus’ Eclogue, the Antiatticist, Phrynichus’ Praeparatio sophistica, and Moeris’ Atticist.
Through this research strand, DEA contributes to the second objective of the PURA project: to study the intellectual and cultural legacy of Atticism in antiquity, the Middle Ages, and the early modern age by charting the history of the lexica as books, as well as their journey across different ages and places.
The first part of this section, devoted to the full mapping of Pollux’s Onomasticon, was published in September 2024.
