This section of DEA hosts individual studies of the manuscripts and early printed editions of five lexica: Pollux’s Onomasticon, Moeris’ Ἀττικιστής, Phrynichus’ Eclogue, the Antiatticist, and Phrynichus’ Praeparatio sophistica.
Through this research strand, DEA contributes to the second objective of the PURA project: to study the intellectual and cultural legacy of Atticism in antiquity, the Middle Ages, and the early modern age by charting the history of the lexica as books, as well as their journey across different ages and places.
The first part of this section, devoted to the full mapping of Pollux’s Onomasticon, was published in September 2024.
The second part, devoted to the mapping of Moeris’ Ἀττικιστής, was published in June 2025.
